AirPods get cameras
Rumors have been going around for some time that Apple is working on AirPods with cameras. These are not cameras for taking photos or videos, instead Apple opts for infrared cameras. According to the usually reliable Apple expert Mark Gurman, these are intended to provide information about the outside world with the help of artificial intelligence. The cameras record your environment and Apple Intelligence helps provide information.
Visual Intelligence already works in a similar way, where you can request information about certain objects with your iPhone’s camera. This is not the only advantage of the cameras on the AirPods Pro 3, because Apple is also working on support for hand gestures, according to recent rumors. You will probably no longer need buttons with the new version of the AirPods Pro 3, because the cameras register hand gestures to operate the earphones.
Two versions of the AirPods Pro 3
The new version of the AirPods Pro 3 have many more functions with the infrared cameras. Operating is much easier and Apple Intelligence comes to the earphones for the first time. It is expected that the AirPods Pro 3 with cameras will be released in addition to the current version of the earphones. For example, with the AirPods 4 you can currently choose between a version with and without noise reduction.
We will soon see two options for the AirPods Pro 3, where you will undoubtedly pay more for the version with cameras. This is especially bad news for all users who already have the AirPods Pro 3, because those earphones are becoming outdated faster than expected. Apple launched the AirPods Pro 3 for 249 euros, but you now pay €238.95 for the earphones. The price of the AirPods with cameras is still unknown, the same applies to the release of the advanced earphones.
