Albert Heijn will start installing fast chargers at its stores in the Netherlands and Belgium this year. To this end, the supermarket chain is entering into a partnership with Eneco eMobility. It is not yet known exactly how much charging at Albert Heijn will cost.
The pace at which Albert Heijn will install the fast chargers is quite high. This year, a total of 240 charging stations should appear at the supermarkets, in 2025 there should be at least 2,000. Opposite RTL News Albert Heijn reports that these are fast chargers with a maximum charging speed of 225 kW. The electricity for the fast chargers comes from fully sustainable electricity. The fast chargers are mainly intended for customers who come to do their shopping at Albert Heijn.
It is not yet known how much charging at the Albert Heijn will cost. In Germany, for example, you can quickly charge Aldi for free when you come to do your shopping. Fast charging while doing the shopping will in any case become easier, because Shell also announced that it will place fast chargers at supermarkets.
