Alfa Romeo hints at a possible 8C successor

Alfa Romeo is coming this year with a brand new sporty model, possibly in the spirit of the controversial 8C. We now seem to be catching a first glimpse of this, although it is still very minimal.

None other than Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato revealed last year that Alfa Romeo is working on a new sports car. It will appear in the first half of this year and will continue where the GTV and later the 8C left off. Or will there be a V8, just like in the 8C? Don’t assume it. According to Imparato, there would either only be a fuel engine or a fully electric powertrain in the newcomer, the latter now seems most likely.

In a video in which Alfa Romeo looks ahead to 2023, we see a mysterious rear light. A fairly round unit, just like the great example, the 8C. Part of the light forms the letter ‘e’ and that is probably not without reason. The ‘e’ of electric? Probably. In that case, the only question is where Alfa Romeo gets the technical basis from. Perhaps it is right with group colleague Maserati, which offers the new GranTurismo as a fully electric Folgore. Anyone who thought that the recently unveiled Giulia SWB Zagato is already Alfa’s new sports car is definitely wrong. More to come!
