Now also the hybrids

After it became clear last night what the new BMW 7-series as 740d should cost, we now also know what the plug-in hybrid versions in the Netherlands should yield. The plug-in hybrid 750e indeed appears to be the most economical way to drive a new 7-series.
The announcement of the prices of the new BMW 7-series will be done in steps. Immediately at the introduction we learned what the fully electric BMW i7 costs, namely minimum €141,809. Last night the 740d xDrive suddenly appeared in the configurator. The only version of the new BMW 7-series available in the Netherlands that does not have a plug connection, must yield at least €130.978.
Yesterday, the model overview also immediately noticed the starting price, which turned out to be €124,207 lower than the price of the diesel. Our suspicion is confirmed, because that lower price does indeed belong to the plug-in hybrid 750e xDrive. That version has a six-cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor and with 490 hp and 700 Nm is certainly not under-engined. Prefer even more? Then there is the M760e xDrive, which stamps 571 hp and 800 Nm from a comparable powertrain. That version costs at least €148,431 and for that money also immediately gets the well-known M Sport appearances. The attentive reader may have noticed that every version gets the addition ‘xDrive’. That’s right, because four-wheel drive is standard on all versions for the time being.
The plug-in hybrid BMW 750e and M760e will be added to the configurator in the second half of October. As mentioned, the 740d and electric BMW i7 can already be found there.
