The French highway police are now driving in style: Alpine has delivered the first A110s converted into a Gendarmerie car.

The Renaults Mégane RS, which the French highway police still operate in, are slowly but surely disappearing from the scene. They will be succeeded by Alpines A110, it was announced in October. Of course we were already very curious how the Gendarmerie jacket would look like on the sports coupé and luckily the wait has now been rewarded with an extensive photo session.

We would prefer to see an A110 without the stripes on it, of course, but he can wear the police suit nicely. It is almost reminiscent of the Porsches that the Dutch highway police used to patrol. Incidentally, it is not new for the French to chase speed demons on the highway with an Alpine. The original A110 was also used by the Gendarmerie. The 252 hp strong modern A110 is only slightly faster. Incidentally, the Alpine A310 was also used in the past, as well as fast Renaults such as the 18 Turbo, 21 Turbo and until recently the Mégane RS.
