Have you accidentally deleted the App Store from your iPhone? Don’t panic, because there’s an easy way to get the App Store back. This is how you do it!
App Store removed
With iOS 18.2, Apple has introduced another set of features for the iPhone. That’s not all, because as a user you also get more freedom when setting up your iPhone. This way you decide which apps are used by default for email, camera and App Store. You can even remove these Apple pre-installed applications from your iPhone, but that’s not always convenient. Certainly removing the App Store is not without consequences.
Apple therefore does not simply allow you to remove the App Store from the iPhone (or iPad). You must first install an alternative online store before you can remove the App Store from the iPhone. So it doesn’t happen so quickly that you accidentally delete the online store. Did that happen anyway? Then the apps you installed with the App Store will no longer receive updates. We explain how to put the App Store back on your iPhone.

This is how you restore the App Store
Has the App Store disappeared from your iPhone? Fortunately, there is no reason to panic, because you do not have to reset the device to factory settings. Apple has introduced an easy way to reinstall the online store on your iPhone. Curious how to do that? Follow these steps to restore Apple’s App Store to your iPhone:
- Open ‘Settings’ on your iPhone;
- Scroll down and open ‘Apps’;
- Choose ‘App installation’;
- Scroll down again;
- Finally, tap ‘Restore App Store’.
After restoring the App Store, Apple’s official web store will be back on your iPhone. Do you want to use the App Store by default to install applications? Then go to ‘Settings > Apps > Default apps > App installation’ and drag the App Store up. You do this by pressing and holding the three lines next to the App Store, you can then drag the App Store up. It then uses the App Store to show recommendations in Spotlight, Siri, and Safari.

More iPhone tips
Deleting the App Store is therefore not that quick, but it can happen if you have another online store on your iPhone. It is advisable to keep Apple’s official App Store on your iPhone, as long as you use applications downloaded from the App Store. Don’t you do that? These apps will then no longer receive updates, making them unusable and unsafe after a certain period of time.
So be careful if you have installed applications from different online stores (called app marketplaces by Apple). In that case, make sure you have all app stores on your iPhone, so that apps from the various online stores continue to receive updates. Developers not only release updates for new features, but also to keep the security of the application in order. Did you find this tip useful and would you like to know more?
