AirPods Pro 3
Apple announced the iPhone 16th on Wednesday 19 February, but that is not the first product that the company unveiled in 2025. A week earlier, Beats, a company that is part of Apple, released completely new ears. The PowerBeats Pro 2 then appeared with a number of advanced functions. These ears reveal a new function that we will most likely see at the AirPods Pro 3.
The PowerBeats Pro 2 have an improved battery life, noise reduction and design. The most striking feature of the PowerBeats Pro 2 has little to do with audio, because the ears have health sensors for the first time. These sensors ensure that the PowerBeats Pro 2 can measure your heart rate. Beats has never released ears with this feature. According to rumors, we can expect similar changes at the AirPods Pro 3.
New health function
There have been rumors for some time that Apple is working on new health functions for the advanced ears. Now that the PowerBeats Pro 2 has a heart rate sensor, it seems almost certain that Apple also brings the function to the AirPods Pro 3. We will probably see the same biometric sensors as with the PowerBeats Pro 2. You no longer need your Apple Watch to measure your heart rate.
To measure the heartbeat, the PowerBeats Pro 2 are equipped with optical sensors. These blink more than 100 times per second with green LED light to determine your heart rate. The sensors of the PowerBeats Pro 2 only measure your heart rate while doing workouts. This way you get better insights into your health and fitness. That’s not all, because you can also optimize your workouts based on the heart rate measurements.
Release of the AirPods Pro 3
Apple will probably bring the same function to the AirPods Pro 3 this year. The heart rate monitor may be slightly more advanced. For example, the measurement at the PowerBeats Pro 2 only works when doing workouts. With the third generation of the AirPods Pro, Apple probably makes it possible to always measure your heart rate, even if you are not exercising. The AirPods Pro 3 thus distinguishes itself from the PowerBeats Pro 2.
Other improvements that are expected from the new generation of the AirPods Pro are the H3 chip, a more compact design and a highly improved sound quality. The PowerBeats Pro 2 have almost the same changes, with which Apple has already explained a lot about the AirPods Pro 3. The ears only appear in the fall, the release is probably in September.
