Apple insider gives useful iPhone tips that you really need to know

1. Arithmetic without a calculator
We’ll start these iPhone tips with a way to calculate faster. If you need to calculate something, you normally open the Calculator app. Although that is a great way, it can also be done without it and it is even faster.
When you swipe down on your home screen, the search bar appears. All you have to do is type the calculation you want into the search bar. The outcome will automatically appear on screen, you don’t even have to tap Enter. By the way, this trick also works from your Lock screen. It couldn’t be faster!
2. Recover deleted files
Number 2 of this week’s iPhone tips is for anyone who has ever accidentally deleted something. If that only happens occasionally, you may not know how to get the file back. The first thing you can try is to shake your iPhone. Literal. A menu will probably appear with Restore ‘Delete’ on the screen. If you tap ‘Restore’, the file will be restored.
If for some reason this does not work, there is another option. It goes like this:
- Open the Files app;
- Tap the ‘Browse’ tab;
- Under ‘Locations’, tap ‘Recently deleted’;
- Tap the three dots at the top right and then tap ‘Select’;
- Choose the files in question and tap ‘Recover’.
3. Film faster with your iPhone
We conclude these iPhone tips with a handy movie tip. Sometimes it is especially important that you can start filming quickly. You would rather just skip switching to video mode and adjusting the settings. And that’s possible!
Just leave the camera app in standard mode (photo mode) and press and hold the shutter button. Filming then starts immediately, without you having to do anything else. You can zoom in and out by swiping up and down with your pressed finger.
