The AirTag sales seem to be doing well. According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, sales of the tracker continue to grow gradually. If this remains the case, Apple is considering developing a second-generation AirTag.
AirTag 2 coming up?
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has once again looked deep into his crystal ball and is taking to Twitter with news about the AirTag. Although Apple has said little about the tracker’s sales figures, the AirTag seems to be a sought-after item.
“The AirTag has gradually grown in shipments since its release,” Kuo tweeted. According to the analyst, Apple will sell between 20 and 35 million units in 2021 and 2022. “If AirTag shipments continue to grow, I think Apple will develop a second generation,” predicts Kuo.
What are the improvements?
What Apple wants to improve on the second version of the AirTag is still unknown. The company may be doing something about the design. We hope that a future AirTag will have a hole to attach it to a key ring without an accessory.

Apple may also have plans to make different versions of the AirTag. Competitor Tile, for example, has a Sticker variant, which you can simply stick to anything, such as a camera. There is also a Tile Slim, which is the size of a card and fits like a glove in your wallet.
The AirTag is also intended to trace valuable possessions, such as your keys, bag or wallet. These can then be traced from a very great distance; Apple uses the network of the millions of Apple devices that exist worldwide. If someone with an iPhone is nearby, they will send the location anonymously.
stalking
Unfortunately, the tracker is also used for malicious purposes, such as to stalk people or for theft. Apple is trying to address these issues through firmware updates. The tracker now makes a sound faster if it is far from its owner, or alerts a person carrying an unknown AirTag.
The suggested retail price of the AirTag is 35 euros, but is now offered cheaper at some stores. Do you want to know where you can get the tracker the cheapest? Check our price comparison:
