There are a lot of new products coming again, according to reliable Apple analyst Mark Gurman! iPhoned tells you what Apple has planned!
“Many more new Macs on the way after MacBook Air”
In the latest edition of his Power On Newsletter Mark Gurman scatters rumors again. The usually reliable Apple analyst says that more Macs will come with the new M2 chip. For example, the journalist talks about new Mac mini models. You will soon have the choice of a version with an M2 chip (which we already know from the new MacBook Air 2022) or one with an M2 Pro chip.
According to Gurman, the MacBook Pro also needs a major update. He expects a new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips. And the most exciting news in Mac-land? The recently announced M2-Ultra will be surpassed by an unknown ‘M2 Extreme’ chip in the latest Mac Pro, according to this journalist.
Gurman even dreams of the first M3 Macs, such as a redesigned 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air and a new iMac. There may be another 12-inch “mini MacBook” that is actually still too early in development to make any serious statements about it.
Are you still keeping track of it all? We have yet to see which Macs actually see the light of day in the coming years.
“Other Apple products coming soon”
In addition to this cascade of Macs, Gurman continues to talk about products we may see later this year. Gurman is thinking of a new Apple TV with an A14 chip and 4 GB of RAM. These specs are similar to the A12 chip announced last year as part of the 2021 Apple TV.
We are very excited about this. It could open the door to a good gaming experience on the Apple TV. The tvOS 16 operating system already hinted at that. We are also looking forward to a new HomePod with an S8 chip. There are rumors that this HomePod will also get multi-touch. So unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a so-called ‘HomePod TV’ yet.
Finally in this overflowing list, Gurman mentions in his newsletter that he expects a number of new iPad Pro models with the M2 chip. Gurman also thinks Apple will come up with a larger iPad with a 14-inch to 15-inch display in the next two years. He is also hoping for the long-awaited AR/VR headset.
