Apple will present the largest software updates of the year next week, including possibly the completely new homeos. We already know this about the new operating system!

The WWDC 2025 is coming! On Monday, June 9, 2025 at 7 p.m. (Dutch time) Apple presents the most important software updates of the year. That evening the company unveils iOS 26, iPados 26, Watchos 26, TVOS 26, MacOS 26 and Visionos 26. According to rumors, Apple may announce even a software version during the WWDC, because then we see the completely new homeos.
It has been clear for some time that Apple is working on Homeos, the operating system that is specially developed for the new Homepad. This new device will be a combination of the HomePod and the iPad and must become the center of your smart home. The Homepad is expected this year, with Apple possibly already making the first announcement during the WWDC 2025 next week.
Apple registers Homeos
Apple has already registered the new operating system in different countries. Apple usually registers new software under a different company name, to prevent the name from leaking out. For example, the relatively new company Home Operations Suite LLC has recorded Homeos in different countries as a brand. Homeos is registered in April in, among others, the United States, Peru, Argentina and Liechtenstein.
In 2023, Apple did the same with the release of Visionos, the operating system for the Apple Vision Pro. Under another company name, Apple registered Visionos in a number of countries in April and May. Apple Visionos and the Apple Vision Pro then announced on the WWDC. Apple may have the same plans for the Homepad and Homeos this year. In that case we will already see what the new device and operating system look like next week.
More about the Homepad
According to rumors, the Homepad gets an 8-inch screen, which can be attached to the speaker or to the wall. With the Homepad you can operate smart devices, such as lamps, vacuum cleaners or other accessories. In addition, the device has a camera, so you can use video calling and facetime. Apple probably works on more smart devices that will soon be collaborating with the Homepad and Homeos.
At the WWDC, Apple announces the most important software updates every year, so that would be the time to reveal Homeos and the Homepad. Apple may already show the new device and operating system during the WWDC, but the final release will only be later in 2025.
