Apple re-releases iPadOS 18.0.1 (but not for all iPads)

Apple has released another version of iPadOS 18.0.1! This is an interim update that is not available for all iPads. You need to know this.

Another update is available! Apple has released an updated version of iPadOS 18.0.1. The update is not completely new, because the software version was already released on October 4 for the iPad, iPad Air and iPad Pro. The new version of iPadOS 18.0.1 is only available for the iPad mini 7, which has been available in stores since today. This tablet does not yet run the latest software.

Have you ordered the new iPad mini? The device will then be delivered with iPadOS 18. Therefore, make sure that you immediately update the tablet to iPadOS 18.0.1 so that the software is up to date again. You can install the new software version by going to the settings. You will then find the update under ‘General > Software update’. There you can update the iPad mini to the latest iPadOS version.

Troubleshooting software problems

iPadOS 18.0.1 doesn’t bring any new features to the iPad mini, instead fixing major software issues. Apple only releases these types of interim updates if bugs in the software cannot wait until the next major software release. In this case, it concerns issues with the Messages app, which stops with iPadOS 18 at unexpected times when you respond via a shared watch face on your Apple Watch.

Furthermore, Apple mainly implements security updates with iPadOS 18.0.1. It is therefore important to install the new software version immediately, so that you can be sure that the security of the tablet is in order.
