It will soon be time to update your Apple devices! Apple prepares no fewer than six updates that will be released this week. It concerns iOS 18.5, iPados 18.5, Watchos 11.5, macOS 15.5, TVOS 18.5 and Visionos 2.5. The company is therefore rolling out new software versions for the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac (book), Apple TV and the Apple Vision Pro. These devices may already be updated tonight.
This mainly concerns small updates, with which Apple makes improvements in the software. Yet a number of new functions also come to the iPhone and iPad, because there are new features in both iOS 18.5 and iPados 18.5. New functions
With iOS 18.5 and iPados 18.5, small improvements also come to the iPhone and iPad. For example, parents receive a notification if the code for screen time is entered on one of the devices to expand parental supervision. In addition, AppleCare is better explained in the Settings app, in a frame you can see from iOS 18.5 and iPados 18.5 relevant information. You can also buy content more easily in the Apple TV app, for which you can soon use ‘Buy with iPhone’.
With iOS 18.5, the iPhone 13 series gets a striking new function, because those iPhones receive support for satellite connection. Now that feature is still exclusively for the iPhone 14 and newer, but iOS 18.5 changes that. With the update, Apple ensures that the iPhone 13 can always make an emergency call, even if there is no mobile range or internet connection. That way you can always reach the emergency services in an emergency.
Release of the updates
With Watchos 11.5, Apple brings a new dial to the Apple Watch, which is also dominated by the Pride collection. In other updates such as MacOS 15.5, TVOS 18.5 and Visionos 2.5, Apple has added virtually no new functions. Of all software versions, Apple has the Release Candidate Already released, that is usually the last test version for the official release. That means that we can expect all Apple updates soon.
Apple usually publishes updates on Monday or Tuesday. Hold your Apple devices May 12 and May 13 at 7 p.m. (Dutch time) Therefore, a close eye on, because the new software versions are probably rolled out.
