Apple has launched the first new ears of 2025, with important updates aimed at active users. You need to know this.
Apple releases new ears
The first new Apple ears from 2025 are not AirPods. It is a new version of the PowerBeats Pro. Some of the improvements of the PowerBeats Pro 2 are active noise reduction or Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) with transparency mode, personalized spatial audio, an H2 chip for improved energy efficiency and integration with Apple ecosystems, and for the first in an Apple-Sudi Product : heart rate monitoring.
An improved design
With the PowerBeats Pro 2, the ear hook is half smaller than with the original PowerBeats Pro and made from a nickel-titanium alloy for more flexibility and comfort. An IPX4 classification means that PowerBeats Pro 2 are sweat and water resistant. Furthermore, they have improved ventilation and five ear tips (XS, S, M, L and XL).
The newly designed housing of the PowerBeats Pro 2 reduces the weight by 20 percent compared to the predecessor and thanks to the more efficient H2 chip, the battery of the ears itself with ANC eliminates an hour longer than that of the previous generation (10 hours Instead of 9).
The built -in battery in the charging case ensures a total battery life of 45 hours, a significant improvement compared to the 24 -hour of the predecessor. Nevertheless, the new case is 33 percent smaller and now also supports wireless charging via Qi for the first time.
New sound functions
The PowerBeats Pro 2 have a large number of Apple functions that were missing in the previous generation: active noise reduction with transparency mode to let in selective sound from outside, adaptive EQ to adjust frequencies in real time for an optimal sound and personalized spatial audio With dynamic main tracking, so that the sound always seems to come from the same side.
The PowerBeats Pro 2 are also the first Beats types that support Lossless Audio with very low latency, optimized for the Vision Pro where the H2 chips work together in both devices to offer a compelling experience.
Revolutionary Health Features
An important function of the new ears is heart rate measurement. If you have both earplugs in your ears and heart rate measurement is active, then optical LED sensors pulsate with more than 100 times per second to measure the heartbeat through the blood flow. This is integrated into popular fitness apps to collect data during workouts and to synchronize it with the Apple Health app.
If you use the new earbuds with an iPhone, the heart rate measurement starts automatically when you start a workout with a compatible app and stop automatically when you terminate the workout. If you wear both an Apple Watch and the PowerBeats Pro 2, Apps will use the data from the Apple Watch as standard. Apple has made that choice not to disturb the existing basis of Apple Watch users who are already maintaining heart rate data. Apple does noted that both methods should yield comparable results.
Full integration Apple functions
Thanks to the H2 chip you can expect the full package of Apple integration functions with these new ears, including One-Touch Pairing, automatic switching between devices via iCloud, audio sharing so that several people can listen to the same audio source, hands-free Siri and look for a mining support.
The PowerBeats Pro 2 are immediately available in the colors jet black, sandstorm, hyper violet and electric orange, for an amount of 299.95 euros. They are also in stores from Thursday 13 February.
