Apple has changed the name of its streaming service Apple TV Plus. And that’s not the only thing Apple has changed.
New name for Apple TV Plus
Apple TV Plus is Apple’s streaming service where you can watch well-known series such as Severance and Prehistoric Planet. But Apple recently changed the name. Apple TV Plus is now called Apple TV.
Apple TV is currently also the name of Apple’s media player. So that might cause some confusion at first. It is not known whether Apple still plans to change the name of the hardware. But that will probably happen when a new version of Apple TV (the hardware) is released.

Together with the name change, Apple series and films now get a new intro. Below you can see what will be available on Apple’s streaming service in November 2025. You will immediately see the change in the name and you will hear the new Apple TV intro sound.
By the way, the intro sound was made for Finneasthe brother of pop star Billie Eilish. You can hear the sound with every Apple Original series and film. There are even three versions of the sound. The longest is a 12-second version that you hear in the cinema when an Apple Studios film is shown.
This costs the Apple TV streaming service
A subscription to Apple TV costs 9.99 euros per month. However, you can watch for free for seven days when you start a subscription. In addition, when you buy an Apple device, you get three months of Apple TV free as standard.
If you have Apple One, Apple TV is included. In addition, some providers often have offers that allow you to include Apple TV cheaply with your internet subscription.
