The Apple Watch Series 9 is the successor to last year’s Watch Series 8. At first glance it looks a lot like its predecessor, because the design has not been tinkered with. So you get the same large screen with extremely thin screen bezels with an aluminum or stainless steel housing.
The inside is a different story. For the first time since the Watch Series 6 there is a new chip. The Apple S9 chip is up to 30 percent faster, making it powerful enough for all the new watchOS 10 capabilities.
A new hand gesture for operation is very cool: Double tap. You make this gesture by tapping your index finger and thumb together twice. The watch recognizes this thanks to the collaboration between various sensors that measure your movement and changes in your blood circulation. This allows you to take calls, hang up, and more. In addition to the well-known colors midnight, starlight, silver and red, there is a new color option for the aluminum version: pink.
