Research agency CIRP Apple has been tracking this for over a decade by surveying 500 recent Apple buyers each quarter and analyzing that data. This includes research into the Apple Watch models that US consumers have purchased this year. We present you with the top 3 Apple Watches of 2024 so far!

CIRP described the results of the Apple Watch study in the report ‘Apple Watch Models Trend Toward the Middle‘. For the iPhone and iPad, the Pro models are usually the most popular, but this is not the case for the Apple Watch. The Apple Watch top 3 of 2024 so far looks like this:

1. Apple Watch Series 9
2. Apple Watch Series 8
3. Apple Watch SE (2022)

The American numbers

The best-selling Apple Watch in the June 2024 quarter in the US was the Apple Watch Series 9, with a market share of as much as 43 percent. The Apple Watch Series 8 ended with a share of 19 percent in second place. In third place comes the Apple Watch SE with 12 percent.

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 ended with 11 percent in fourth place. This was followed by the Apple Watch Ultra (1) with 9 percent of total sales. Nike smartwatches close the list with a 5 percent share.

It is possible that many customers who see the Apple Watch as an iPhone accessory will be inclined to opt for the more affordable Series 9 or 8 (or even SE), instead of the Ultra or Ultra 2. It is not yet clear whether the popularity of the different Apple Watches is more or less the same in the Netherlands.
