The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is Apple’s very best smartwatch so far. That is also allowed with a price tag of € 899. It is therefore the Apple Watch with the most functions.

Design and screen
At first glance there are few changes to be found at the Apple Watch Ultra 3. The smartwatch has made the same robust housing of titanium as the Ultra 2. The buttons are also in the same place and the housing has the same shape.
What has changed are the screen edges. They have become a bit thinner. This makes the usable part of the Ultra 3 screen slightly larger. The maximum brightness is still the same: 3000 Nits. The brightness is a bit better with certain viewing angles, but it was already pretty fine on the Apple Watch Ultra 2.
In addition, there is a small adjustment to the screen of the Ultra 3. The display of the new Apple Watch has a refreshing speed of just one second in the Always-on position. This makes it possible for you to see the second hand moving every second when the watch is in the rest position (always-on). With the Apple Watch Ultra 2, the screen in the Always-on position only refreshes once a minute.
Also handy to know: you can still use all your old Apple Watch bands on the Apple Watch Ultra 3. As long as you have the right size.
Charging faster
The Apple Watch Ultra 3 can also charge a lot faster. You can then charge the smartwatch up to 80 percent in about 45 minutes. At the Apple Watch Ultra 2 that took another hour.
New chip: S10
The Apple Watch Ultra 2 has an S9 chip. The Ultra 3 has received an S10 chip, but it is almost the same in terms of specifications. Apple has probably given the Ultra 3 a new chip to control the slightly improved screen.
More energy efficient (but not always)
You can now be a little longer with a full battery ahead at the Apple Watch Ultra 3. You can still be ahead 72 hours ahead if you have the battery saving on. That has remained the same as with the Ultra 2. But the battery life with everyday use has improved. With the Apple Watch Ultra 3 you can go 42 hours ahead, while with the Ultra 3 ‘only’ 36 hours.
5G and satellite
New for the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is the support for 5G. In addition, this Apple Watch also receives satellite connectivity. With this you stay connected in even more places and you can feel it on the road with peace of mind. Whether you go skiing, running in a remote area or camping in the wilderness, you know that you remain accessible.
Better Sleeping (With Sleep Score)
That’s not all, because Apple is also coming with a new sleep score this year. Information is collected, such as the time when goes to bed and the duration of your sleep. In order to display the umbrella quality on the basis of a score. However, this function also comes to the Apple Watch Series 6 or newer, and therefore also to the Apple Watch Ultra 2 (and 1).
Blood pressure gauge
One of the most important improvements at the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is the new blood pressure measurement. Apple has been working on this blood pressure function for the Apple Watch for a while. However, do not expect exact numbers like with a traditional blood pressure monitor. Instead, the Watch keeps an eye on your blood pressure for a longer period of time (30 days) and you get a signal if high blood pressure is measured for a longer period of time.
Yet this function is also not exclusive for the Apple Watch Ultra 3. The blood pressure measurement also comes to the Apple Watch Series 9 (and newer) and the Apple Watch Ultra 2.
