Apple will release a new HomePod in late 2022 or early next year. That’s what a famous person claims. It is not yet clear whether it is a large or small version of the smart speaker.
Possible new HomePod as early as 2022
According to the famous tasty Ming-Chi Kuo, which often has correct information, Apple may launch a new smart speaker this year. We should see the next HomePod in late 2022 or early 2023. He does not say whether it is a successor to the original HomePod, which was discontinued last year, or a new version of the HomePod mini.
Another Apple insider, Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, previously said that Apple is working on a HomePod that is somewhere between these two speakers in size. However, Kuo claims in his tweet that Apple may not change the design much. That rather suggests an update of one of the existing speakers. It is unclear what exactly Apple wants to improve with the new model.
The large HomePod has never been officially for sale from us. For a long time you could also only bring his smaller brother into the house through detours. It was only in March of this year that Apple brought the HomePod mini to our country. It now finally speaks Dutch, so you can operate it with your voice via Siri without using difficult English words.

Will we get a HomePod/Apple TV combo?
The HomePod that Apple may already release in 2022 is therefore probably ‘just’ a smart speaker. In addition, the company is said to be working on a ‘HomePod TV’. That is a combination of the smart speaker with an Apple TV. You could connect that device to your television to watch Netflix and Apple TV Plus, for example, and it also provides sound directly. In addition, he would have a FaceTime camera to be able to make video calls.
