Apple is working on a new generation of the HomePod Mini! The HomePod Mini 2 will appear in 2025 and will have a number of improvements. The HomePod Mini now has a WiFi and Bluetooth chip from Qualcomm. This processor makes the wireless internet and bluetooth connection possible at the speaker. At the HomePod Mini 2 this part is replaced by a chip produced by Apple itself. The processor is more efficient and brings new functions to the HomePod Mini. We saw similar improvements at Apple’s own C1 modem in the iPhone 16th.
Apple’s new internet chip is more advanced and can be used as an extension of a WiFi signal. That way you can add the HomePod Mini 2 to a mesh network, where the small speaker ensures a larger range of the internet in your home. That is a handy addition, because you don’t have to purchase any other WiFi amplifier. This is not possible with the current generation of the HomePod.

Another improvement expected at the HomePod Mini 2 is support for WiFi 6th. That is a big step, because the current version of the HomePod Mini is still working with WiFi 4.
