The big iPhone 13 event has yet to start, but secretly we are already looking forward to other announcements from Apple. Tim Cook’s company may be organizing a new event on October 12.
Apple October 2021 event: possibly October 12
Apple users are eagerly awaiting tonight’s iPhone 13 announcement, but the Cupertino company probably isn’t done with that. Website MacRumors is already looking ahead and may think to know when the next Apple event will take place. This presentation is probably dominated by the iPad and Mac(Book) and is scheduled for Tuesday 12 October.
How did MacRumors arrive at this date? Last year’s October event took place a day after Apple’s Back to School promotion ended. The promotion then ended on October 12, after which new Apple products were unveiled on October 13. The Back to School deals will be available in Europe until October 11 this year, which could mean a new event the following day.
An Apple keynote on October 12, however, is certainly not fixed. The company hasn’t released any details about a potential event yet, and it may just be a coincidence that last year’s Back to School campaign and October event overlapped. In recent years, Apple has also organized an event on October 27 and 30, so there is also a chance that we won’t see new iPads and Macs until the end of October.
iPhone 13 event tonight at 7pm
For now, all eyes are on the big iPhone 13 event, which will take place tonight at 7 p.m. Dutch time starts. The iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are expected to finally be unveiled. The devices look a lot like their predecessors, but of course introduce the necessary improvements.
For example, the iPhone 13 phones would be equipped with a smaller notch, the notch in the screen for Face ID. The iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max may have a ProMotion display, in other words: a screen with a high refresh rate of 120Hz. This makes images look much smoother and more natural. The cheaper iPhone 13 and 13 mini would not have this feature, but – just like the Pros – have better cameras.
Furthermore, Apple will probably announce the Watch Series 7 tonight, which will be equipped with a completely new design. The screen of the smartwatch is larger and the bezels are thinner. Finally, we get to see the AirPods 3, which should also offer better sound in addition to a modified design. Knowing more?
