Of course you have known that the airtag is particularly useful to keep an eye on your valuables. The only drawback is that the airtag with a price of € 32.99 is quite expensive. Especially if you want one on your bike, one in your suitcase, one on your keys and who knows where else. So that quickly runs into the papers.
It is therefore not a bad idea to consider the Silvercrest Smart Tags. You can now buy it as a 3-pack at the Lidl for just 14.99 euros! They simply support the function find my from Apple, so you can also see them in the app.
Another form
You have to do it without the characteristic round shape of the airtag, because the Silvercrest versions are rather square, with an opening in one of the corners. The Smart Tag does not fit in an airtag holder, but that is no problem at all. You can easily attach it to it through a ring or the supplied silicone key cord everything.
The airtag is also slightly slimmer than the Smart Tag, but the difference is not very large. The dimensions of the airtag are 3.19 x 3.19 x 0.8 cm, those of the Smart Tag 3.7 x 3.7 x 0.7 cm. It saves something, but in practice it is not really a problem.
A slightly lesser battery life
The only drawback of the Silvercrest version that we could find is the slightly shorter battery life. An Apple airtag holds it on average for about a year, but the Silvercrest Smart Tag stops after about 8 months. However, that is not a big problem. There are three CR 2032-Batteries included and you can easily replace them yourself when they are empty.
