Are you a customer of Odido? Or have you had a subscription in recent years? Then pay close attention, because this way you know whether your data is involved in the Odido data breach!
Major data breach Odido
Bad news for (former) customers of Odido, because millions of stolen data from the company are currently being made public. Odido is dealing with one of the largest data breaches in Dutch history. It is now clear that the hacker group Shinyhunters is behind the data breach at Odido. This group has obtained sensitive information from millions of Odido customers.
This concerns important information such as your full name, home address, telephone number, e-mail address, passport number and bank account number. That’s not all, because the customer service notes are also known to the hacker group. This way, the criminals behind this group can see which Odido customers have payment arrears and who is in need of help. It is therefore important for Odido customers to know which data has been stolen.

6.2 million Odido customers
According to Odido, the data of at least 6.2 million customers has been stolen. Shinyhunters states that this involves even more data and that at least 10 million (former) customers have been affected. Have you taken out a subscription with Odido in recent years? In that case, there is a very good chance that your data is involved in the data breach. Odido has sent an email to all affected customers at Thursday February 12, Friday February 13 or Saturday February 14, 2026.
Did you receive an email from Odido on one of those days? Then you can be sure that your Odido data was stolen in the data breach. If you have not received an email, there is a good chance that your personal data is safe. This will be important to know in the near future, now that Odido has announced that it will not transfer any amount of money to the hacker group Shinyhunters. In response to this decision, the stolen data of hundreds of thousands of Odido customers has been published on the dark web.

Beware of scams
The stolen data of Odido customers has been shared on the dark web, so you cannot legally check whether your data has been published. The lists of stolen data may be made public later, but it is unknown what steps the hacker group will take. In any case, there is a real chance that your data will be shared on the dark web if you received an email from Odido on Thursday February 12, Friday February 13 or Saturday February 14, 2026.
Are you one of the affected customers? Be alert in the near future, because the chance of online scams is much greater. Criminals can personally approach Odido customers based on the stolen data. Therefore, check the senders of unknown emails carefully so that you can be sure that you are not dealing with a scam. Also keep an eye on your bank account, so that you can immediately report strange debits to your bank. Do you want to know what else you should pay attention to?
