Audi A5 Avant more visible than ever

Audis with a fuel engine will soon all have an odd number and that is why the direct successor to the Audi A4 will soon be called the Audi A5. There will also be an EV, a completely different car, which will be called A4. The new Audi A5 has already been spotted several times, as a Limousine, as an Avant and even as an RS5. Now the Audi A5 Avant has resurfaced and surprisingly enough, Audi suddenly no longer feels the need to wrap it up tightly. This gives us a clearer picture of the A4 Avant successor than ever.

As was also clearly visible with camouflage, the A5 has sharper headlights compared to its predecessor, which are located a little lower in the nose. Nevertheless, as we are used to, it is clearly recognizable, especially from the front, as a descendant of the A4. At the rear, Audi provides a bit more of a surprise this time, as can now be clearly seen for the first time. The A5 Avant has a kind of ‘shelter’ above the rear lights. That is a clear break in style from its predecessors. The Limousine also seems to have a somewhat sharper separation between the rear lights and the upper part of the tailgate. It is also striking that this prototype does not appear to have any handles yet. There are some kind of pull loops hanging out of the doors. So it remains to be seen how Audi will design the door handles, although on previously spotted A5s it seemed that they will be fairly minimalist units, with a small ‘cavity’ underneath.

The fact that Audi is now suddenly showing the A5 so clearly is possibly a sign that the unveiling will take place soon. Who knows, Audi may provide a surprise around the Geneva Motor Show (where the brand is not present), but it is more logical that the unveiling will take place sometime in the spring or next summer.
