An extra thick Audi A8 L has been presented in Russia. Now you might expect Abt perils by the term “fat”, but we literally mean fat. This is namely the armored Audi A8 L Security.
This A8 is possibly the safest A8 ever built by Audi, because the interior is fully armored. In addition to high-quality steel, Audi uses aramid fiber, laminated armored glass and a special aluminum alloy. With all this, the car meets the so-called explosion protection ERV 2010 standard. It is also possible to create high air pressure in the cabin at a necessary time to prevent smoke or gas. If the special tires are flat, you can still drive at a speed of 80 km / h over a distance of 80 km.
All this of course also weighs “some” more. Where a regular A8 carries a maximum of 2,275 kg, this 5.3-meter-long armored version weighs no less than 4,215 kg. The 571 hp 4.0-liter V8, however, ensures that the beast still accelerates from zero to 100 in 6.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 210 km / h. Inside, the A8 L Security resembles a regular extended A8, rear seat passengers have plenty of space and everyone is bathed in luxury.
