Porsche receives help from group member Audi in the production of the Taycan. The factory in Zuffenhausen cannot keep up with demand and that is why it flies in Audi employees. The annual production should therefore double as much as possible.
It seems that Porsche was somewhat mistaken about the popularity of the Taycan. In Zuffenhausen they have the capacity to deliver about 20,000 copies of the Taycan on an annual basis, but that turns out to be far from enough. Waiting times are reportedly already increasing and the delay of the Taycan Cross Turismo would also be partly due to the overloaded production facility. CEO Oliver Blume, however, was still talking about the consequences of the crisis, although that does not necessarily have to be independent of a backlog in production. Anyway; Audi comes to the rescue.
400 employees of the Audi factory in Neckarsulm will from now on work in Zuffenhausen. According to Automobilwoche, After confirming the shift in manpower, the first gentlemen and ladies of Audi have been working on the construction of the Taycan since June. In the months that follow, the rest will move in that direction. The annual production will eventually have to be increased from 20,000 to 40,000 Taycans. The change is not only the result of success within the Volkswagen Group, because at the same time there is simply a surplus of employees in Neckarsulm. The Audi factory is running with overcapacity, as was revealed at the end of last year. The A4, A5, A6, A7, A8 and R8 that are being built there no longer provide the numbers the factory is set up for.
