Side points
Audi will soon present the facelifted Q8 and is already sharing a teaser picture of it. We shouldn’t expect earth-shattering changes, although there may still be a striking change in the barrel that you don’t see on this teaser.
The Audi Q8 has been running for about five years now and according to Audi it’s almost the perfect time to freshen it up. On September 5, the curtain will go down on the facelifted Audi Q8 and now we can already see a shadowy picture of it. In fact, only the newly completed lighting stands out. Audi says the front units have also been changed. That was all in line with expectations, because in July we already saw a camouflaged test sample (an RS Q8) on which various changes could be spotted and the regular Q8 already appeared at the beginning of this year.
Audi still speaks of the ‘new Q8’ when it comes to the facelift, but who knows, the top SUV will undergo a name change. Audi is going to use the even numbers for its electric models and since the facelift of the E-Tron, that electric SUV is also called Q8 (with the addition of e-tron). The petrol Q8 therefore seems a suitable candidate to introduce the new naming, to avoid confusion with the electric Q8 e-tron. Then Audi logically sticks the Q9 badge on it. We will know more in about two weeks.
