Audi RS6 from Abt as a tribute to founder

Tuner Abt Sportsline is celebrating: this year it will be 125 years since Johann Abt founded his forge. In honor of this, Abt is introducing the Audi RS6 Johann Abt Signature Edition. It not only gets the necessary exterior upgrades, but also a lot of extra power.

Abt has clearly worked on the Johann Abt Signature Edition. To start with, the car remains a rarity, because Abt only builds 64 copies. During the production process, only one mechanic works on each car by hand. Abt builds six units per month. The Signature Edition is the successor to the RS6 R, which released 740 hp and 920 Nm on all four wheels. Abt is now taking it up a notch with 800 hp and 980 Nm. That makes for spectacular figures: 0-100 km/h is rushed in 2.9 seconds, 200 km/h is on the counter in 9.8 seconds and the modified RS6 thunders through to 330 km/h.

Abt achieves these numbers, among other things, through self-developed turbos, modified software, larger intercoolers, an extra oil cooler and a special exhaust system with four round tailpipes. Via the Abt app you can keep track of various statistics about the car and also adjust the available power. In addition, Abt installs height-adjustable suspension and stabilizer bars to further improve the handling of the fast station. The aerodynamics package is largely inherited from the RS6-R. However, the air intakes in the front bumper are slightly larger on the Signature Edition, presumably to cool the engine more effectively. To reinforce the distinction, the details on the Signature Edition are in red carbon, with Johann Abt’s signature on the splitter.

A piece of the origin

This signature can also be found in the interior of the Signature Edition, namely on the backrests of the front seats and the backrest of the rear seat. The furniture is upholstered in black leather with red stitching. Furthermore, the red carbon of the exterior can also be found on the moldings and around the buttons of the seat adjustment. A plaque bears the production number of the respective Signature Edition, with the year in which the company was founded on the sills. Nice detail: Abt puts a piece of Abt’s original anvil on the center console. So you drive around with a piece of the origin.
