The uncrowned American drift king Ken Block recently teamed up with Audi. That cooperation is beneficial to Ken, because this Audi S1 Hoonitron has been specially designed for him!

The Audi S1 Hoonitron will star in Block’s next YouTube stunner, dubbed “Elektrikhana” for the occasion. This is therefore an electric Audi executioner, but one with historical awareness. The name ‘S1’ is not just stuck on the device, because there are actually some similarities with the legendary Audi Sport Quattro S1 E2, with which the Germans once caused a furore in the Group B of rallying and during the Pikes Peak Hill Climb.

The ‘Hoonitron’, for example, shares its very stocky profile with the real S1, but also its frenzied spoiler work. The body is also very firmly built around the wheel arches and we see some light retro elements here and there, such as the ‘high-beam headlamps’ in the grille. The result is undeniably special. That in itself is special, because the design of this car was done in just four weeks, according to Audi.

Audi does not release exact specifications. It is clear that the S1 of course has four-wheel drive, coming from two electric motors. There is ‘an overkill’ of power, according to Block enough to ‘drift into a donut straight from a standstill at 150 km/h’. Spectacle guaranteed, then.

For those unfamiliar with Ken Block, it might be a good idea to give his name to the search bar on this site. In short: Block is a rally driver and entrepreneur best known for his ‘Gymkhana’ videos on Youtube. In it, he drives a random car monster with maddening precision over a purpose-built area, which attracts millions of viewers.
