Apple introduced this line to the iPhone X, when the home button disappeared from the smartphone. With the line you can navigate more easily between applications, simply wiping over the line to the left or right. With this sweeping movement you can easily open the previous or next application. De Lijn has always been visible on the iPhone since 2017, but that has changed this year. With iOS 26, the commonly used function of your iPhone disappears.

Do you regularly use the line on your iPhone? Then we have bad news, because with iOS 26 the function is no longer visible on your iPhone as standard. You can still see the line on the lock screen of the iPhone, but it disappears when you use an application. That is a big difference with iOS 18 and earlier software versions, where the line was displayed as standard.
