BMW is working on a subtle facelift for the 8 Series. The 8-series Coupé already rolled by with a thick layer of camouflage on the head and butt, now the Gran Coupé is also present.
The BMW 8-series Coupé has been running since mid-2018 and therefore BMW considers the time ripe for a refresher round. The 8-series Gran Coupé appeared a bit later than its two-door brother, but also benefits from the update round described by BMW as ‘Life Cycle Impulse’.
It should come as no surprise that the changes we find on the 8 Series Gran Coupé are the same as on the 8 Series Coupé. Slightly flatter headlights and slightly altered bumper work are the biggest exterior changes. As can be clearly seen, people who don’t like the hefty grille of the 4 Series need not fear that its big brother has to believe it too.
Count on BMW’s innovations for the interior – the latest generation of iDrive may come to the 8-series – and that a form of hybrid drive may appear in the BMW 8-series. We expect to welcome the renewed BMW 8-series at the beginning of 2022.
