BMW fills a gap in the range of the X5 and X6. The new 40d version with 340 hp six-cylinder engine is equipped with mild hybrid technology.

The BMW X5 and X6 will soon be available as 40d, with 340 strong 3.0 six-cylinder diesel engine. The maximum torque of 700 Nm is available between 1,750 and 2,250 rpm. In addition, there is a small electric motor, the 40d is equipped with mild hybrid technology. It supports the diesel engine with a maximum of 8 kW or even takes over the tasks completely, for example during the rollout.

The 3.0 diesel engine is linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission and xDrive four-wheel drive is standard on both the X5 and X6. The new diesel version can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 5.5 seconds.

BMW states a consumption of 1 to 15.6 to 16.9, depending on the chosen version and wheels. The six-cylinder engine is ready for the Euro 6d standard, which will not start until next year. The prices of the new diesel version will be announced shortly.
