204 hp

The electric BMW iX1 gets a new engine version that expands the range of the electric SUV downwards. This is the BMW iX eDrive20, a new engine version that will be positioned below the existing xDrive30.
The BMW X1 is available with mild-hybrid combustion engines, as a plug-in and as a fully electric iX1. Until now, we only knew the iX1 as a four-wheel drive xDrive30 with two electric motors that combined had a combined power of 313 hp. This now includes a new entry-level version: the eDrive20. The missing x in the name of that motorization already indicates that this version does not have four-wheel drive and therefore has to make do with one electric motor.
The electric motor delivers – with temporary boost – 204 hp and 247 Nm. With that power, the BMW iX1 eDrive20 sprints in 8.6 seconds. Its top speed is set at 170 km/h. Just like the iX1 xDrive30, the eDrive20 has a 64.7 kWh battery pack in its bottom. This package gives the iX1 eDrive20 a range of – depending on the chosen version – 430 to 475 kilometers. Fast charging is possible with up to 130 kW.
Prices for the BMW iX1 eDrive20 are not yet available. The BMW iX1 xDrive30 costs at least €55,127 as a temporary introductory version called Launch Edition. You can count on the eDrive20 being several thousand euros lower than that.
