The superlative of the BMW M3, of which the first photos appeared on the internet earlier this month, is now actually loose. This is the new BMW M3 CS, the superlative of the M3 that is tougher, lighter and faster than the car it is based on.

Don’t you get excited about the 480 hp that the BMW M3 and the 510 hp that the M3 Competition has to offer? Then this brand new BMW M3 CS might be your new companion. The BMW M3 CS is the extra superlative of the M3 that is not only stronger, but thanks to an extensive and mainly carbon fiber diet also loses some kilos. In the wildly modeled nose of the BMW M3 CS is a 550 hp and 650 Nm strong variant of the well-known 3.0 six-in-line. Thanks to, among other things, increased turbo pressure and a rewritten engine management system, that machine is 40 hp more powerful than the heart of the M3 CS, which makes it just as potent as the M4 CSL. The rest of the treatment that the M3 CS receives is also similar to the M4 CSL.

Just like the hood, the front splitter, parts of the front bumper, the side mirror caps, the rear spoiler and the diffuser, the roof of the BMW M3 CS is made of CFRO. Carbon fiber reinforced plastic. In combination with lightweight M Carbon bucket seats and titanium mufflers of the exhaust system, the M3 CS weighs 20 kilograms less than the M3 Competition with xDrive drive. The latter is important to mention. The BMW M3 Competition is available with and without xDrive four-wheel drive and the previous M3 CS was rear-wheel drive. However, this new M3 CS always has xDrive all-wheel drive. However, it is possible to send the full power to the rear wheels. Switching is done with an eight-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission.

With its extra large muscle power and lower weight, the BMW M3 CS pounds to a speed of 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds. More impressive are the only 11.1 seconds it takes to touch 200 km / h from a standstill. The intermediate sprints from 80 to 120 km/h take just 2.6 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 302 km/h. BMW has, among other things, specially adjusted the camber, dampers, springs and stabilizers and M Compound brakes are of course standard. Those who wish can order an M Carbon ceramic braking system at an additional cost.

The exterior of the BMW M3 CS, like that of the M4 CSL, is overloaded with the necessary visual drama. We see a heavy grille, extra lips, edges and completely new spoiler work all around. The M3 CS is standard on 19-inch Gold Bronze-colored wheels at the front and 20-inch ones at the rear. In the interior, in addition to the special bucket seats, you will also find an Alcantara-covered M steering wheel with paddle shifters that are made from the same lightweight material as, among other things, the roof.
