To be honest, we had expected that the RT would have been the next one that the 1300-upgrade would undergo, but the Germans have now given priority to the Roadster project as the first model after the GS. In the Gelände/Straße models, the 1300 boxer engine is good for a top capacity of 145 hp at 7,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 149 Nm at 6,500 rpm, and that will not be different in the new Roadster.

That means that the new R 1300 R compared to the current model, the R 1250 R, 9 hp and 6 Nm will improve. In addition, the engine will be equipped with the same electronics package as the GS, including adaptive cruise control, Emergency Brake Assist and blind spot recognition. It is also in line with expectations that the R 1300 R with the new semi-automatic transmission will be available.

On Thursday, April 10, the R 1300 R will be unveiled at exactly 5 p.m.
