In front of Automotive News, Zipse says, among other things, that the electric equivalent of the 3-series along with the other cars on the Neue Klasse architecture “[…] become the benchmark when it comes to range, charging speed and price.” Quite a claim.
Whether BMW will succeed in setting a new standard in EV land? We won’t find out until 2025 when the first Neue Klasse models come on the market. We know, among other things, that BMW’s new electric models will have battery cells with greater energy density and can charge up to 30 percent faster and offer up to 30 percent more range than the brand’s current electric models.
