BMW is making more adjustments to its models. This time the novelties relate to the X1 and X2, but instead of those two crossovers getting something extra, the order list is slightly shortened.
BMW currently offers both the X1 and X2 with 150 hp and 350 Nm strong xDrive18d powertrain with both a manual six-speed gearbox and an automatic transmission. The manual option will disappear soon, which means that both the X1 xDrive18d and X2 xDrive18d will now always have an eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission, a transmission that also works in the 20d and 26d.
BMW supplies a total of four different automatics in the X1 and X2. For example, plug-in hybrid xDrive25e has a six-speed automatic transmission, BMW supplies a seven-speed automatic transmission in the sDrive18i, sDrive20i and sDrive16d, there is an eight-speed Steptronic transmission for the aforementioned xDrive18d’s and an eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic with paddle shifters for the M35i. The Steptronic Sport automatic transmission is optionally also available in other versions.
