Fighting the M-stripes

The facelifted version of the BMW X5 M has already passed twice before, but today we can take a look at the horizontal slats of its grille for the first time. They won’t go down well with everyone.
This is typical: a facelift version of an important model is on the way, but the sporty top version comes over time and again in camouflaged form. Three times to be exact, each time he was camouflaged quite tightly. It still is, but we still get to see certain parts better than ever today. This includes the front bumper, but also the grille. Just like with the M3 and M4 and later with the M2, it will have horizontal slats instead of the double vertical ones of the current model. The shape of the grille also changes, whereby the ‘kidneys’ don’t seem to get any bigger. Where we are still in doubt about the grille, the headlights are guaranteed to be slightly smaller than with the current model.
It may well be that BMW opts for horizontal slats to sit crosswise with Mercedes-Benz, which is always going for vertical bars on the AMG models these days. However, we have another theory, and that is that BMW hopes in this way to reverse the trend of the plastic M-stripes (do not buy) to stop. Guaranteed in vain, by the way, because lovers of this often Aquafresh related accessory have shown long and wide that they will not be held back by something as banal as circumstances.
