Brabus takes care of GLE and GLS 63

Brabus takes care of GLE and GLS 63

Brabus is well on track. After the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S, the manufacturer from Bottrop gives the GLE and GLS a similar treatment. Both mastodons receive a significant power upgrade and the necessary cosmetic adjustments.

In any case, you don’t have to put in a lot of effort to recognize the Brabus SUVs. The Mercedes logos have been replaced by those of Brabus and the bumpers on both the GLE 800 and GLS 800 have been made thicker and equipped with the necessary carbon fiber parts, whereby the diffuser is the most eye-catching. Another prominent style feature is the grille. It has the same bars as the Panamericana grille from Mercedes-AMG, but on the left side of the logo two of those bars are made red and on both sides of the grille are carbon fiber inserts. Of course, the grille of the GLS is a bit bigger than that of the GLE.

Both SUVs roll on 24-inch wheels. The GLE is on multi-spoke models with a red edge, while the GLS has more striking ‘monoblocks’ for footwear. “The perfect choice for any terrain,” says Brabus in the accompanying letter. However, we dare to doubt that. Brabus does not leave the interior untouched either. Aluminum pedals, special leather for the seats, other floor mats and carbon fiber trim and door sill complete the picture. To top it off, the flippers behind the steering wheel have been made larger.

The adjustments are of course not purely cosmetic in nature. The 4.0 V8 biturbo gets a power boost to 800 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque in both the GLE and GLS. Brabus also installs a modified exhaust for a more emphatic sound. Thanks to the tuned power source, the GLS sprints to 100 km / h in 3.8 seconds, only to stop accelerating at a limited 280 km / h. The GLE has the same top speed, but is 0.4 seconds earlier at 100 km / h.
