Buddi Wireless Headset: Cheap AirPods alternative with noise canceling
The AirPods Pro from Apple are good, but quite pricey (€ 214.95). Do you want to pay earplugs, but not the main prize? Then there is now a great alternative. The Buddi Pulse True Wireless Headset even looks a bit like the AirPods Pro. And, like Apple’s ears, also have (active) noise reduction.
These ears normally cost 29.95 euros, but they are currently on sale for 24.95 euros.

Package contents
In the packaging of the Buddi Pulse True Wireless headset you will find a charging box with the ears, the charging cable and two sets with reserve silicone caps. The box with the AirPods has about the dimensions of those at the AirPods Pro, but it is a bit thicker.

Connect to Bluetooth
The ears are magnetically clicked into the box. They are immediately activated when you take them out. Connecting is fairly simple, but not as easy as with AirPods. With these buddis you have to connect the ears under ‘Bluetooth’ on, for example, your iPhone.
During the review of the Buddi Wireless Headset De Oortjes we wanted to connect both to the iPhone and a MacBook Air. When connecting to the iPhone it went fine, but if you then want to use the ears on a second device (in our case a MacBook), you must first break the connection manually on your iPhone. Only then can you connect the ears with your laptop.
So are you planning to usually use the ears on one device? Then you have virtually no trouble of the disadvantage above. But do you want to use them on multiple devices? Then it can eventually become annoying.
Sound quality: good enough (with a lot of bass)
But the most important thing is of course the sound. And that is good with these earbuds. We have to be honest: don’t expect the sound quality from AirPods. But what the earbuds of Buddi make is certainly fine. Especially when you keep the much lower price in mind.

The earplugs like a little bass. And that even dominates at times. Do you find something extra oompf Well nice? Then you could also see it as a plus.
Quite a few functions, but controls take some getting used to
The control via the ears is fine. It takes some getting used to before you know where all the options are. Both earplugs from the Buddi Wireless Headset have almost the same possibilities, but there are also a few differences. This way you can set the transparency mode and the active noise reduction with the left. With the earplug on the right you can switch between gaming and music mode.
You can also skip the next song by tapping twice quickly, but only with the right ear. Do you quickly tap the left ear twice? Then you go back a number.

You cannot adjust the volume via the earplugs, and that is a pity. For that you always have to grab your iPhone or other device. He also has no functions such as earpiece, with which the ears automatically stop playing when you take them out of your ear. So keep that in mind when you put them away.
Battery
The battery life is fine. With the ears you can manage it to a load for about 4 to 5 hours. Together with a charged charging box you get about 25 hours of listening pleasure. But if you always have the active noise reduction, you will hand in some hours. Then you get about 18 hours from a full load with the box.
The charging box has a USB-C port. A USB-A to USB-C cable is included, but a charging block is not included. The Buddi True Wireless Headset can not be wireless wireless.

The box of the Buddi earbuds also has no light on which you can see the load. Instead, he has a small screen on the side of the box showing the available charge.
Conclusion: Review Buddi Pulse True Wireless Headset
The Buddi Pulse True Wireless Headset is a great AirPods alternative if you don’t want to spend too much. Just like the AirPods, the earbuds have proactive sound suppression and that works pretty well. In addition, they are sweat and splash water resistant (IPX4) and are available in black and white.
As long as you do not expect the same sound quality and noise reduction as Apple’s earplugs and a bit of (much) bass does not mind, these buddis are a great purchase. The controls take some getting used to and especially in the beginning you will regularly pause the music by accident if you are sitting on the stalks once.
The ears are comfortable and the small screen in the charging box (on which the battery life is on) is also handy. A pity is the lack of wireless charging and that connecting with multiple devices is a bit cumbersome.
