Next Wednesday, the Dutch business car of the year will be announced. As usual, this happens during the Driving Business event of Automobiel Management, but in a modified form by Covid19.
The business car of the year is a prize sought after by Dutch importers because of the enormous market position of the business driver in general and large leasing companies and fleet owners in particular when it comes to new cars sold in the Netherlands. The jury consists of board members of the five largest lease companies in the Netherlands, several large fleet managers and four car journalists including Techzles Roy Kleijwegt. Matters such as quality of the dealer network, residual value, kilometer cost, safety and reliability play a role in the assessment.
Last year the Volkswagen Polo won, the Best Newcomer was the Tesla Model 3. The nominees for this year are:
BMW 3 Series
Ford Focus
Hyundai Kona
Kia Niro
Mercedes A class
Peugeot 3008/5008
Renault Clio
Skoda Octavia
Tesla Model 3
Toyota Corolla
Since the event is out of necessity smaller this time, it will be streamed online, making it free for everyone to follow. Registration is necessary. That is possible here.
During the event, the prizes for ‘The Van of the Year’ and ‘The Best Newcomer’ will also be announced.
