It has been official since last week: the iPhone 14 event will take place on Wednesday 7 September. As a result, we now also know when the iPhone 14 pre-order will probably start – and when you will receive the device at the earliest.
iPhone 14: when can you pre-order?
A 48-megapixel camera, new design, Always On screen and more: the changes are big with the iPhone 14 Pro. Are you sure you want to buy one of the four brand new Apple phones? Then get your money together, because the iPhone 14 pre-order is not long in coming.
As mentioned, Apple will announce the iPhone 14 series on Wednesday, September 7. Traditionally, the new iPhones can be pre-ordered the Friday after the Apple event. Very likely the pre-order will start Friday 9 September.
We also already know the time: you can order in the online Apple Store from 14:00 Dutch time. If you are there on time that Friday, you will have the iPhone 14 (Pro) a week later – on Friday 16 September at home. From now on, the new iPhone series is also in stores.
The lineup is expected to consist of a 6.1-inch iPhone 14, 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro and 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max. A small iPhone mini is therefore missing. There will be no 5.4-inch version, as the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 mini sold poorly.
The improvements
The standard iPhone 14 models are expected to have a better ultra-wide angle lens, better selfie lens with autofocus and longer battery life. The design remains the same as with the iPhone 13 and presumably it even contains the same A15 Bionic chip. That makes it a moderate upgrade.
More interesting is the iPhone 14 Pro (Max), which, as mentioned, gets a 48 MP camera. Also, the notch at the top of the screen disappears. Instead, there will be two small cutouts. As a result, the screen is slightly larger and there are thinner bezels.
Three new Apple Watch models are also expected: the Apple Watch Series 8, second-generation Apple Watch SE and an Apple Watch Pro. Apple may also present the tenth generation iPad.
