The big ‘earplug-head-shake test’

We find it very annoying; wireless earbuds that fall out of your ear. Especially now that they are no longer attached to your iPhone with a cable, it is all the easier to lose them. And then we haven’t even started about the fact that you constantly lose half of your music or podcast. Do you like sports to music? First we did a round jumping jacks and a ‘run’ around the place. In the third round, we tested whether the earplugs fell out when the head was shaken vigorously. On the last lap we jumped on the stairs. Read the result below or watch the test video!

5. Apple AirPods Pro

Surprise: The Apple AirPods Pro finish in last place. they have the jumping jacks, running in place and shaking the head does not survive. However, Apple AirPods manage to stay put when you take a big jump on a step. The Apple AirPods Pro are characterized by an improved design, but this was not shown in our test. Still, there are plenty of other positive things to say about the AirPods Pro. These earphones come with a built-in ventilation system, so that the air pressure inside and outside the ear remains the same. This ensures better wearing comfort.

2. Apple AirPods 3

Apple AirPods 3

Apple’s (already) classic wireless earphones have outperformed the pro version in terms of fit when exercising. The third generation AirPods have a design that is reminiscent of the AirPods Pro, with shorter stems but without silicone ear tips. However, they do stick well in your ear. They only fell out of our ears when running. Unfortunately, these earbuds do not have active noise cancellation. With Spatial Audio (which gives you surround sound), Apple has greatly boosted the sound quality of the AirPods compared to the predecessors.

Apple earbuds are sweat and water resistant. You can’t clean them under the tap, but these ears will survive a drizzle. This makes the AirPods 3 ideal for sports, provided they don’t fall out, of course. The earphones do not come standard with a charging case. You can listen to music for five hours, but if you order the storage case with it, you have 25 hours extra listening pleasure. The AirPods 3 support Siri and pair very quickly with your iPhone (and then all your other Apple devices). This is due to Apple’s special W1 chip,

In addition, the AirPods recognize via sensors when you take them out of your ears, so that the music automatically stops (just like with the AirPods Pro, by the way). The price of the AirPods 3 is attractive; from 179 euros you can already pick them up from various providers.
