Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing beastly strong thanks to Hennessey

The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing itself has little to do with subtlety in terms of power, but it can always be crazier. Hennessey proves that with the crazy ‘H1000’.

More than two years ago we (or rather, the Americans) were introduced to the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. A whopping 677 hp strong sedan that should give cars like the BMW M5 and Audi RS6 a cold sweat. With that ‘standard’ 6.2 V8, the CT5-V Blackwing shoots from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of over 320 km/h. Nothing to be ashamed of, it was even the strongest street-legal Cadillac ever, but Hennessey Performance obviously thinks it’s not enough.

The technicians got to work with the eight-cylinder and, thanks to modified cylinder heads, improved intake and exhaust valves, other tappets and pushrods and an even larger supercharger, managed to increase the power considerably. The V8 now releases no less than 1,000 American horsepower and 1,309 Nm on the rear wheels. According to Hennessey, that enormous increase in power is good for a roughly one second faster o-100 km / h sprint. The big joke is that tuner leaves the appearance of the CT5-V Blackwing untouched. It is already a slightly more subtle appearance than, for example, an Audi RS6, but now you can almost speak of a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Incidentally, Hennessey also ensures that the CT5-V Blackwing should still be able to go through a corner despite that enormous power, thanks to widely configurable Magentic Ride Control and Brembo braking. It is not yet known what the whole fun package costs. The regular CT5-V Blackwing is available in the US from €93,495.
