Call of Duty: Mobile is wildly popular, with millions of players competing online. We give you eleven tips to emerge as a winner.
Call of Duty Mobile Tips to Score Better
Since the release of Call of Duty: Mobile, the game has consistently topped the App Store charts. And that’s not surprising: the game plays surprisingly well and is very extensive with several game modes. This has made it the largest mobile game ever.
As you are used to from Call of Duty, there is plenty to unlock again, from new weapons to perks and skins for your character. In this article we list eleven tips to get the most out of the game.
1. Choose or customize the correct control
When you start the game, you are given the choice between two different types of controls: Simple and Advanced Mode. As the name implies, Simple is a lot easier to control because the game shoots automatically and all you have to do is aim yourself. However, if you want to have more control and manually set where all the buttons are on the screen, you can choose Advanced.
Our experience shows that Simple is a great way to get acquainted with the game, and then you can make the switch to the more complex Advanced. You can always change the type of controls by tapping the gear in the main menu and looking at Controls.
2. Up to level 10 you play against bots
Do the first few games you play online go very well? That’s no coincidence: you play against bots until about level 7. These computer-controlled enemies aren’t exactly smart and stop remarkably often for you to aim for with ease.
From level 7 you gradually encounter more real players and only at level 10 you really play online against only real people. So that gives you a chance to practice before it really gets serious.
3. Unlock Battle Royale Mode from Rank 7
When you’re just starting out, you only have the option to play some multiplayer modes, such as Domination and the classic Team Deathmatch. However, Call of Duty Mobile also has a full Battle Royale mode, which won’t become available until you reach level 7.
In this mode, just like in PUBG and Fortnite, you land on a large island with dozens of other players and it’s up to you to quickly find weapons and equipment, and be the last to stay alive. The fast pace and fine controls make this a full-fledged addition to the most popular battle royale games in our opinion.
4. Compare weapons with each other
Before you enter the battlefield, you can do anything loadout To adjust. Here you will find a handy ‘compare’ button, with which you can compare different weapons with each other. Instead of manually putting numbers next to each other, you can see at a glance which gun best suits your playing style.
It also clearly shows what influence different attachments have on the effectiveness of a weapon. We recommend that you always do this when you just unlock a new gun, so that you don’t get an unpleasant surprise during a match.
5. Communicate with your teammates
Call of Duty Mobile has a built-in voice chat feature, which allows you to start a conversation with your teammates. If you prefer not to talk out loud, you can also choose to send short voice commands. You do this by tapping the speech cloud and choosing a suitable sound fragment from the drop-down menu.
This way you talk to your teammates some extra courage, but it is above all a useful tool in the Battle Royale mode, in which good communication can be the difference between winning and losing.
6. The card is your best friend
The rectangle in the top right corner of your screen is perhaps your most valuable asset: the map. Here you can not only see where you and your teammates are, but you can also read where enemies are hiding.
These red dots appear when someone fires their gun without a silencer on it, or when your team has a UAV drone in the air. By tapping on the small map, you will see a large version on which you can view the entire map. Choose a safe spot before doing this, though, because while you’re reading the map quietly, you won’t be able to defend yourself.
7. Avoid open areas and choose an alternative route
This tip actually applies to all shooters, but it has also saved our lives countless times in CoD: Mobile. At the start of a new round, don’t run like a headless chicken with all your teammates, but choose an alternative route that allows you to surprise the enemy. Each map has several routes, which give you a different way to walk to the side of the opponent.
Also, always stay near walls or places where you can hide. That way you win a lot more often in firefights with players who do choose to sprint across a large open area.
8. Don’t forget to upgrade your weapons
The gear you take with you is a big part of your success in Call of Duty: Mobile. Therefore, take a regular look at the Loadout part of the game. Here you gradually unlock more and more new things, from weapons to Perks that give you special abilities.
The more you use a weapon, the more upgrades you unlock for it. From larger magazines to lasers that make aiming easier. When selecting these upgrades, keep a close eye on the stats on the right side of your screen.
Here you can see exactly what positive and negative influence an attachment has. So always try combinations of different attachments to make the optimal statistics possible.
9. Team up with your team, especially in Battle Royale
This tip speaks for itself, but unfortunately it rarely happens. Especially when you play Battle Royale, good cooperation with your team is crucial. Jump down together in the same spot, keep an eye on each other’s life bar and share equipment to make not only yourself but also your teammates as strong as possible.
Also, always try to stay together so that you can help each other up. Good communication also plays a role here.
10. Claim your unlocked items!
Although Call of Duty: Mobile is free to download, you can of course spend money on it. The game is also packed with free to unlock weapons, gear and rewards, if you know where to look. First up is the daily login bonus, which gives you new weapons and gear by simply turning the game on and claiming your reward.
In addition, there are individual events, which you can find in the Events tab on the left side of the home screen. Here you can find other temporary challenges, for which you can also get new weapons. Once you’ve got everything in there, you can still look at the Season tab with free and paid rewards as you reach new levels. Finally, in this tab you will also find other challenges for which you also get rewards.
11. Glide on the floor and lie down
Finally, a quick tip to surprise your enemies or get out of a desperate situation quickly. If you press the bend button while running, you slide forward a few meters instead of sitting down.
This makes it an effective way to quickly cover a few yards, or slide toward your enemy while firing. Do you see the grenade icon appear on the screen? Then this slide is a handy way to get away quickly.
