The camera of your computer or laptop may not work when you meet via Microsoft Teams. Fortunately, there are some ways to solve that problem.
Before we dive deep into the subject, we would do well to cover a simple solution. It is possible that a setting is incorrect in the program. Open Microsoft Teams and press the three horizontal dots in the top bar. Select settings and go to Devices†Choose under the heading Camera the correct camera. When you see yourself in the picture, you know you’re using the right camera.
It is also a good idea to close other programs that can use the camera, such as Zoom or Skype. If you have connected multiple cameras via USB, it is also useful if you disconnect a number of them until you have one left. Then you can be sure that you always use the right camera for Microsoft Teams.
It is also possible that you have disabled a camera within the driver menu and that you have forgotten that. So right click on Start and select Device Manager†Open Cameras by double clicking on it and select the camera you see with your right mouse button. Then choose the Enable option.
Microsoft Teams and privacy settings
It also happens that users forget the privacy settings to follow. Sometimes, as a precaution, users set certain permissions in a specific way, making cameras or microphones, for example, less available (with good reason). But if you do need such a part, it is useful if you change the settings.
Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera and give below Allow access to the camera on this device indicate that you want to enable it. Then also allow apps to access the camera by moving the slider below it to the right so that it turns blue.
Permissions
We can also check whether Microsoft Teams has the correct permissions. To do this, go to the settings of the app again. below App permissions you need to set that Teams has access to Media (this also includes the microphone and speakers). Finally, it is a good idea to check if there is an update available for the app.
If the above solutions don’t work, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Find the app via Settings > Apps > Apps & Features†Select the app and press delete. Then visit Microsoft’s website to download and install the app again. Go through the settings again and check if everything works.
