Someone thought this couldn’t be done but I wanted to make sure.

Answer
Dear Bram,
A gas mixture of O2 and CO2 can be separated simply by taking advantage of the differences in chemical behavior between the two.
What you can do is send the gas mixture through a solution of slaked lime in water. Then the CO2 will react with it to form chalk and the gas mixture will then only contain O2. The formed chalk is not soluble in water and therefore precipitates. You can filter that off and then heat it strongly, then the chalk is converted to quicklime and the CO2 is released. This way you can get the two gases separately.
So it’s possible!
