A suitcase set usually requires a lot of money to be put on the table, but at CFMoto they have now made it very attractive. When purchasing a new 800MT Sport you get a significant discount when you order it including a 3-piece suitcase set.
We have already made enough meters with it to have personally experienced that the cooperation with KTM has certainly not done the Chinese any harm. While the partnership initially seemed to be a win for KTM, which had found a solid and reliable partner in CFMoto for the development and production of the LC8c and all models powered by that parallel twin, it is now certainly a win for CFMoto as well
The collaboration has given CFMoto access to KTM technology, which has already resulted in the 800MT, which has been put on the market in two versions: Sport and Touring. Designed by KTM’s in-house designer Kiska, the 800MT has absolutely refreshing and distinctive looks, with the LC8c parallel twin being the second common denominator with KTM.
Equipped with a mapping developed in-house, the 799cc parallel twin is good for a peak power of 95 hp and a maximum torque of 77 Nm. That could easily have been a bucket more, but then it would no longer have been suitable for the A2 driving license and they found that at CF -understandably- more important than those few extra horses.
In terms of electronics, CFMoto gives you the choice of 2 riding modes, Sport and Rain, in addition, an IMU is provided that has enabled the use of cornering ABS, which really makes braking in corners much safer because a motorcycle with cornering ABS extends its line neatly follows and does not straighten up and goes understeer towards the other half of the road.
We are even happier that the 800MT is equipped with cruise control as standard, which makes driving long distances a lot less tiring and is also really ideal for when an average speed check crosses your path. That saves mail from Leeuwarden. Otherwise, check out our first test in Spain last year, or our comparison test with the V-Strom 800DE earlier this year.
To make it even more interesting for potential customers, the Benelux importer has now made a very competitive offer. Normally a roadworthy 800MT Sport with a standard 5-year warranty and suitcase set costs € 13,099 (€ 11,500 in Belgium), but from now on you only have to pay € 11,999 (NL) or € 10,500 (BE) at the dealer. That’s a nice 1000 euro discount on what is already a pretty good price for a bike with standard cornering ABS and cruise control.
