CFMOTO recalls 800MT: throttle cable routing may be incorrect

CFMOTO has issued a recall for the 2023 800MT due to incorrect throttle cable routing, which could cause the throttle cable to become too tight during steering movements and potentially break.

CFMOTO recalls 800MT: throttle cable routing may be incorrect

CFMOTO has determined at the factory that the throttle cable on some model year 2023 800MT Touring and 800MT Sport models may bend excessively and break, resulting in loss of throttle response, limited RPM and/or engine stalling.

CFMOTO’s investigation revealed that these potential wire breaks are due to a configuration of three overly tight rubber clamps securing the throttle cable, causing the throttle cable to flex excessively during steering maneuvers.

All 2023 800MT motorcycles with the configuration of three overly tight throttle cable mounting rubbers causing the throttle cable to bend are included in the recall. All models assembled after the discovery have had the rubber clamps relocated at the factory.

On the affected motorcycles, one of the three mounting rubbers will be removed at the CFMOTO dealer and the other two will be moved to a different position that does not restrict and stretch the throttle cable too much, so that it can bend properly during steering.
