Philips comes with new headphones in different shapes and sizes. For example, the A6219 charges itself via solar energy, the A6709 sports headphones are extra small and the H6509 over-ear headphones are suitable for Philips Ambilight TV.

In Barcelona, licensee TP Vision announced, among other things, the new Philips OLED+959 and the new Philips headphones. Read more about the Philips A6219 on-ear sports headphones, the very compact A6709 sports headphones and the H6509 over-ear headphones that are very suitable for Philips Ambilight TVs.

Charging Philips A6219 via solar energy
According to Philips, the Philips A6219 sports headphones should sound great thanks to the use of Philips’ natural and characteristic sound profile that we know from the more premium Philips Fidelio series. This sound profile has now been applied to the newly developed 40mm drivers of the A6219 and features the dynamic bass boost function and other modes. Calls should sound crystal clear thanks to an AI-equipped microphone.
Comfort is provided by the soft, washable, breathable fabric covering of the ear cups. These are filled with gel to keep the ears cool during sports. The headphones have an IP55 rating, making the A6219 water, sweat and dust resistant. The weight has been kept to a minimum while maintaining the robustness of the sports headphones.
The A6219 on-ear sports headphones phone uses Powerfoyle solar cell technology to charge. The self-charging function works with both artificial light from indoor spaces and natural sunlight outside the door. This ensures virtually endless battery life – 80 hours of playtime for the A6219 sports headphones – without having to connect to the mains or replace the batteries. Users can monitor charging progress and battery status via the enhanced Philips Headphone App.
Furthermore, the Philips A6219 is made of 35% Post Consumer Recycled (PCR) plastic, so it is also sustainable, just like the packaging.

Philips A6709 with comfortable open-ear TWS design
Open-ear headphones are becoming increasingly popular thanks to their combination of excellent audio performance without blocking out ambient noise. This way, athletes remain aware of the environment (and any dangers), so it is safe and social. The only challenge was that these open-ear headphones often have a larger size in terms of design, especially compared to the very popular True Wireless earbuds.
The new A6709 sports earphones from Philips combine the best of both technologies, offering all the benefits of open-ear headphones but in a true-wireless form. The A6709 offers an open acoustic design that allows the user to remain aware of their surroundings while keeping the ear canal clear.
The rubber design makes the A6709 ideal for intensive sports, with an IP55 rating, these sports earphones are completely sweat-resistant.
Sound quality is impressive thanks to precision ports that direct sound from the drivers precisely to the ear, while an innovative design (called the “dipole design”) minimizes overall sound dispersion, improving directivity and precision and reducing unwanted “sound leakage.”
Call quality during calls is consistent and of good quality thanks to the addition of two AI-enabled microphones with noise cancellation for background noise. Battery life is excellent with 28 hours (7 hours + 21 from the charging case) of playtime. With a reduced charging time of just 15 minutes you get one hour of playback time.

Philips H6509 for use on the road and at home with an Ambilight TV
The top model in the mid-range range is the new Philips H6509, which markets Philips’ Hybrid Noise Canceling Pro system at a competitive price. This is a lightweight, over-ear design with an emphasis on comfort and design. The headphones offer excellent sound quality thanks to new 40mm drivers.
Philips sees that the popularity of using good headphones is also increasing within the home, for example to listen to the sound of the TV at home. This avoids disturbing other members of the family or neighbors, allows greater immersion in movies and TV shows, or solves problems with hearing the subtleties of dialogue.
However, many consumers do not find it easy to connect Bluetooth headphones to a TV. Even if they succeed, they can still suffer from latency and lip-sync issues. The team responsible for developing Philips headphones has therefore worked closely with the developers of the new Titan OS (the operating system of Philips Smart TVs) to ensure the easiest connection between TV and headphones and the best results.
A TV equipped with Titan OS will automatically recognize compatible headphones – such as the Philips H6509 – when it comes close to the TV. The wireless Bluetooth headphones will automatically appear on the TV screen and a simple connection via Bluetooth between the headphones and the TV will be offered. Integration with Titan OS also ensures a latency of 100 ms or less to ensure a great listening experience and eliminate lip-sync issues.
Bluetooth multi-point also allows the Philips H6509 to connect to more than one product.
In addition, the sound of the H6509 can easily be optimized and adjusted to the user’s wishes via the Philips Headphone App. The battery life is very remarkable with 60 hours of playtime – 40 hours with Active Noise Canceling (ANC) on.
